Speed measurement of spherical objects using an off-the-shelf digital camera

چکیده
bstract. Motion blur is a result of finite acquisition time of practical ameras and the relative motion between the camera and moving bjects. We present a method for speed measurement of spherical bjects using motion blurred images captured by a digital camera. he object is assumed under a straight line uniform-velocity motion, nd the speed is calculated according to the imaging geometry and lur extent estimates. We have established a link between the moion blur information of a 2-D image and the speed information of a oving object. Experimental results are presented for the realcene images. © 2008 SPIE and IS&T. DOI: 10.1117/1.2952845

Field Programmable Gate Array–based Implementation of an Improved Algorithm for Objects Distance Measurement (TECHNICAL NOTE)
In this work, the design of a low-cost, field programmable gate array (FPGA)-based digital hardware platform that implements image processing algorithms for real-time distance measurement is presented. Using embedded development kit (EDK) tools from Xilinx, the system is developed on a spartan3 / xc3s400, one of the common and low cost field programmable gate arrays from the Xilinx Spartan fami...
متن کاملA Novel System for the 3d Reconstruction of Small Archaeological Objects
The need for mapping small objects in such areas as archaeology, museum collections, medicine, and industry may be met by using close-range photogrammetric techniques. Requirements of these disciplines demand, in some instances, extremely high accuracy in an automated process for recording the geometry of objects, while in instances which involve numerous objects to be mapped an error-free but ...
متن کاملDisplacement monitoring of a Long-Span Arch Railway Bridge using Digital Image Correlation (DIC)
There is an escalating demand for condition monitoring enhancement of transport infrastructures worldwide. Bridges are of vital importance in transportation infrastructure and need such monitoring. In this research, a non-contact vision-based technique called Digital Image Correlation (DIC) was used to calculate the bridge displacements. A high frame rate camera with 4K capability was used for ...
متن کامل3D Object Reconstruction from Uncalibrated Images using an Off-the-Shelf Camera
Three-dimensional (3D) objects reconstruction using just bidimensional (2D) images has been a major research topic in Computer Vision. However, it is still a hard problem to address, when automation, speed and precision are required and/or the objects have complex shapes or image properties. In this paper, we compare two Active Computer Vision methods frequently used for the 3D reconstruction o...
متن کاملUltrafast 3-D shape measurement with an off-the-shelf DLP projector.
This paper presents a technique that reaches 3-D shape measurement speed beyond the digital-light-processing (DLP) projector's projection speed. In particular, a "solid-state" binary structured pattern is generated with each micro-mirror pixel always being at one status (ON or OFF). By this means, any time segment of projection can represent the whole signal, thus the exposure time can be short...
